The Jane App Setting Most Clinics Don’t Know About

Post Summary:

Jane App can connect to Google Analytics 4 and show which traffic sources drive booked appointments. On Thrive and Legacy plans, it also shows the revenue behind those bookings. Here’s where to find the setting and how one med spa uses it to make ad decisions based on real return on ad spend.

Most clinics using Jane App as their practice management software are missing a key Analytics setting that shows exactly where their booked revenue comes from, not just how many people booked. If you run a clinic on Jane, there’s a good chance you haven’t opened the Integrations tab after connecting Jane Payments.

Why “How Did You Hear About Us?” isn’t enough

Patient memory isn’t reliable. Someone might click a Google ad, forget about it entirely, then tell your front desk weeks later that they “found you on Instagram,” because that’s the last thing they remember seeing before they booked.

Self-reported attribution has always been a rough estimate at best, and it only works when someone actually fills it out. You can’t build an ad strategy on a Referral Source survey field half your patients skip.

Where this “Analytics” setting actually lives

It’s under Settings > Integrations > Google Analytics 4, available on Jane App’s Balance, Practice, Thrive, and Legacy plans.

It connects to Google Analytics 4 (if you have this set-up) and shows bookings by traffic source. It will only work if cross-domain measurement is configured correctly between your website and your Jane App booking page. Skip that step, and the data won’t connect the way it’s supposed to, you’ll see activity in GA4, just not tied back to where it actually came from.

What changed earlier this year

Jane App extended this setup to include the actual revenue behind each booked appointment, not just the count. This new layer lives under Settings > Integrations > Google Tag Manager, and it’s only available on Thrive and Legacy plans.

Paired with ad spend, that gives you real ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), instead of a lead-volume guess. You’re no longer just counting bookings and hoping they’re profitable, you can see the dollar figure behind them.

What this looked like in practice

We set this up for a med spa we’ve worked with since 2023, earlier this year. The shift wasn’t just seeing more numbers on a dashboard, it was being able to make a real call on which campaigns and ads to scale, and which ones to cut. We could also see which treatments were being booked most often through paid traffic.

Ad buying decisions now get made on revenue, not just on cost-per-appointment or conversion rate alone. That’s a meaningfully different conversation to have with a clinic owner about where their ad dollars are going.

Getting this wrong means your data looks like it’s working when it isn’t, you’ll see numbers in GA4, but they won’t be tied to the right source, and you’ll make decisions off a picture that isn’t accurate.

If you’d rather have your Jane App set up correctly the first time, including the Google Analytics 4 piece, that’s something we help clinics with. Reach out if you want to start seeing this level of data in your own practice.
